Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Tonite Gonzalez-Collins is an American-Mexican sportscaster. Her employer is ESPN as a SportsCenter News Anchor. Since 2016, Collins has joined ESPN. Her mother is the television reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins has been bilingual since the age of nine years old, a valuable talent that enabled her to get her first job in the production department for Univision in Miami which provided her with the opportunity to be a part of the production team for National programs like Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. Following this it was announced that her CBS subsidiary located in St. Petersburg employed her as a sport reporter. After 2009, the news reporter moved to Rio Grande Valley Texas where she worked for KNVO TV 48 Univision as and Fox2 News. Covering stories on immigration and drug-trafficking on both sides of the Texas-Mexico border, she served as a reporter for five minutes of the p.m. Spanish newscast a reporter and later anchor of the 9 p.m. news in English and also a reporter again for at 10 p.m. Spanish newscast. She would also fill in occasionally as a weather and sport anchor. Later, she was the anchor and reporter for Univision Dallas' Deportes 23. The station then gave her larger responsibilities. She covered all of the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series and Dallas Cowboys, NBA postseason, Finals FC Dallas as well the Dallas Stars. She also produced Univision 23 Accion Deportiva Extra as anchor. She has been promoted to sports anchor on Despierta America Deportes' morning show. The anchor also worked in the same job as Primer Impacto on UniMas Network as well as Contacto Deportivo for its magazine show. Antonietta Collins was born and raised in Veracruz, Mexico. In Mexico City she was conceived on November 22nd 1985. She has an older sister. The family relocated to Miami following the move from Mexico into the US. After a short time, her father split from her mother. She later remarried in the year 1995 to a naval architect called Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo died of kidney cancer in the year 2006. In the summer of 2006, she took one week with her sibling at Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl was working there. Antonietta was the senior of her high school, but she had a clear idea of what she wanted to do in her future career. She visited Mount Union University to determine if they suited her. In the end she fell in love with the campus. The university offered her the opportunity to study a major. She finished school and went to the university as an undergraduate major in media studies. Mark Bergmann was her professor and the manager of WRMU in which she's a member. They had a very close connection. He inspired her to believe in herself and his passion for journalism deeply influenced her, and she in turn, strived to fulfill the expectations of him and not fail him.
